Once again, I have completed work not originally intended for me. Traditionally, anything that Daniel gets involved with, I inevitably poke and prod, suggesting I can do this shot and that little CG bit better so I can slowly and carefully continue to push my name into reputable movies and spread my name around. The latest stunt involves another independent film, A Lonely Place For Dying (this time, featuring a more known actor, James Cromwell).
The beginning of the movie involves a couple shots of aerial bombing, to which I couldn’t help but to plead for Daniel to let me use Fume to create the bombs. So, off I went, taking some initial R&D work I did for the oft-mentioned, but almost-never blogged about, Threads of Destiny and applying it back to good old Earth (so, like, not zero-g and in space etc.) Along with some help with shader development toward the end, I was able to create some (hopefully) believable bombs from the sky. Additionally, I provided some fires to help provide some sense of pre-carnage.
